The Aeotec Door Window Sensor 8 is a compact Z-Wave door and window sensor designed to detect open, closed and tilted positions. Thanks to its built-in magnetic sensor and 3-axis sensor, the device can accurately determine whether a door or window is open, closed or tilted.
In addition to status detection, the sensor features integrated temperature, humidity and dew point measurements. This allows the sensor to be used not only for security applications, but also for climate monitoring and energy-saving automations within a Z-Wave system.
The Door Window Sensor 8 uses the latest Z-Wave 800 series technology and supports Z-Wave Plus Long Range. Depending on the controller used, this can provide extended wireless range. The sensor operates on a CR14250 battery with an expected battery life of up to 4 years. For permanent installations, the sensor can also be powered via a 5V USB-C connection.
