The Heatit Z-Water2 is a Z-Wave control unit for operating water-based heating systems. With this control unit, the electrical on/off valve controllers (actuators) on heating distributors can be controlled within a Z-Wave network.
The Z-Water2 is equipped with nine (9) potential-free switching contacts. These switching relays can be operated per output via the Z-Wave controller or linked via Z-Wave association to Heatit and other Z-Wave thermostats. In addition, the Z-Water2 has two inputs to which external NTC sensors can be connected for local temperature measurements.
Due to the DIN rail mounting, the Z-Water2 can be easily and professionally mounted near the mix manifold.
Potential free contacts
The potential-free switching relays of the Z-Water2 can switch a maximum of 5 Amps per output. This allows the common open/close valve controllers (actuators) that are offered on the heat installation market to be connected. Both 24VDC (via external power supply) and 230VAC actuators can be used.
Thermostat connection
The control of the Z-Water2 relay outputs can be done from climate panels of the Z-Wave controller used. It is also possible to connect thermostats from Heatit (such as TRM3, TRM6 and Z-Temp2) and other Z-Wave manufacturers via Z-Wave associations. This means that the linked thermostat directly controls the relay output on the Z-Water2.
'Valve exercise'
In the warmer period, the valve controllers (actuators) will be used less often or may not be used at all. To prevent limescale build-up from blocking the valve after a long period of time, the Z-Water2 has a 'valve exercise' option. This special function will open and close the connected actuator at least once every 30 days for a preset time (parameter). This prevents problems in the heating system.
As you would expect from a Heatit product, the latest Z-Wave functions are supported. This means that the Z-Water2 is already prepared for the future. Additional accessories will be available later, such as an external Z-Wave antenna and a separate Heatit 24VDC DIN-rail power supply.
