The Hub M3 is a versatile Hub that can be used in various ways. The following protocols are in place; Zigbee 3.0, Thread, Bluetooth, Infrared and Wifi 2.4 and 5Ghz.
As an Aqara Hub, it is suitable for connecting and automating Aqara Zigbee 3.0 and Aqara Thread products. Bluetooth is used to detect and easily connect products via Thread. The infrared blaster can be used for teaching and controlling devices and has a special infrared air conditioning integration and both can be used as a Matter device (a Matter profile must be available).
The Hub M3 also has a speaker with customizable ringtones and a maximum volume of 95dB. The perfect addition to your alarm system or Aqara G4 doorbell.
The integration of Thread products from other manufacturers is possible. But a required profile may be missing.
The Hub M3, like other Aqara products, can be linked to Google Home, Alexa and has a very extensive link to Homekit. As a Matter - Thread Border router, a link to a Matter network is also available. This makes it possible to connect Aqara Zigbee 3.0 devices to Matter.
Furthermore, Aqara focuses on local service with the Hub M3. Automations continue to function locally even if the internet is lost. Thanks to special ARK technology, when multiple Hub M3s are used, this Thread functionality will be taken over by another Hub M3 if the 'master' disappears.
Both 2.4 and 5GHz can be used for the installation. Furthermore, the Hub M3 has an RJ45 network port that is also POE suitable. This makes the Hub M3 easier to install in places where there is no immediate 230v supply. In addition to POE, the Hub M3 can be powered via a USB-C connector (5v 2A)
